About The Position

The Compliance and Research Assistant at Root Center for Advanced Recovery is a part-time role focused on ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations. Reporting to the Director of Quality & Compliance, the assistant will perform medical record audits, data entry, data analysis, and coordinate research collaborations. This position is integral to maintaining high standards of clinical documentation and supporting research initiatives within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science or a related field preferred, or relevant research and administrative experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to organize data and create reports.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to complete assigned projects.
  • Ability to travel to different sites.
  • Exhibit a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the director in identifying, addressing, and resolving compliance issues.
  • Conduct compliance audits and prepare reports to ensure clinical documentation meets regulatory standards.
  • Communicate compliance policies and guidelines to management and staff.
  • Train employees on compliance requirements, including ethical code of conduct and corporate compliance.
  • Maintain the compliance recordkeeping system.
  • Participate in Monthly Quality Improvement committee meetings and prepare reports as requested.
  • Assist with quarterly and monthly compliance audits of medical records and data entry for analysis.
  • Organize and store paper medical records properly.
  • Process results of surveys collected by the organization.
  • Coordinate new research projects under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Ensure compliance with research protocols and conduct quality control audits related to research collaborations.
  • Provide accurate and timely data collection, documentation, entry, and reporting.
  • Educate staff on research conducted at agency programs and share results to improve patient care.
  • Maintain strong customer relations and participate in team meetings.
