About The Position

The Compliance Project Coordinator (CPC) position at the City of Tucson’s Department of Housing and Community Development is responsible for coordinating activities supporting public housing projects, community development projects, affordable housing projects, and human services programs funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and other federal agencies. The CPC creates and reviews reports and manages the City’s and its subrecipients’ compliance with environmental and labor requirements. Work is performed under the supervision of the Community Services Manager. This position does not supervise. This position is grant-funded.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates work with the City’s Housing and Community Development Department (HCD) personnel, government agencies, community partners, and the public providing information and project updates.
  • Requests, receives, and reviews Section 3 reports and submittals for accuracy and completeness. Provides follow up as needed to resolve errors/omissions.
  • Prepares reports and correspondence, responds to compliance issues inquiries, resolves compliance issues, and maintains documentation.
  • Coordinates, monitors, and documents project and program activities and efforts to meet HUD's requirements and ensures files and data support compliance and reporting.
  • Works with community partners, HCD Project Coordinators and other HCD/City staff to ensure correct application of Section 3 regulations to projects and activities.
  • Tracks contractor and vendor employee data.
  • Provides Technical Assistance and support to City staff, subrecipients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs lower level HUD Part 58 environmental reviews and clearances, ensuring all HUD timelines and deadlines are met.
  • Maintains knowledge of various environmental and labor compliance laws and regulations.
  • Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
