About The Position

At Regions, the Enterprise Compliance and Operational Risk Group Manager is responsible for setting strategic direction and overseeing the design and execution of enterprise-wide risk programs. This position is primarily responsible for adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards, serving as a subject-matter expert and liaison for external agencies. Additionally, this position is responsible for partnering with organizational leadership to ensure effective identification, assessment, and mitigation of emerging risks, as well as to foster a strong risk management culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in risk, audit, or related oversight function(s), including eight (8) years in a supervisory/managerial role
  • Experience working directly with regulatory agencies
  • Ability to learn additional systems as needed
  • Ability to make balanced, risk-based decisions based on facts
  • Ability to prioritize projects and allocate time efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to research, analyze data, and derive facts
  • Ability to solve problems and implement effective solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation

Nice To Haves

  • Applicable certifications (e.g., Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM))
  • Master’s degree in related field

Responsibilities

  • Manages and develops a team of risk management leaders
  • Consults with business groups on the design and implementation of first line of defense activities, controls, processes, and procedures
  • Utilizes knowledge of applicable laws and regulations to ensure business line leadership is properly trained in the timely identification, mitigation, resolution, and reporting risks and issues, collaborating with team on material changes when necessary
  • Maintains continuous dialogue and transparent communication with supervisory authorities on applicable matters
  • May act as the business group Chief Conflicts Officer with oversight of conflicts identification and tracking activities
