DPU: The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) is the state agency responsible for overseeing investor-owned electric power, natural gas, and water companies in Massachusetts. It regulates the safety of bus companies, moving companies, transportation network companies, and oversees the safety of natural gas pipelines and the MBTA Job Description: The Compliance Officer supports the Pipeline Safety Division’s Damage Prevention Program in the enforcement of the Dig Safe Laws.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in investigatory, law enforcement or regulatory administration work, or (B) and equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
  • A Bachelor's or higher degree may be substituted for the required experience.
  • Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Dig Safe Violation Reports are correctly catalogued in Microsoft Excel and Share Point
  • Update Division enforcement actions in shared database(s)
  • Reconciling Public Records Request
  • Prepare and sort documents from shared mailbox for data management
  • Create and maintain logs and reports from shared database for tracking purposes
  • Update database as damage prevention cases progress
  • Review discrepancies in reports and data
  • Ensure excavators respond and/or make payments to the Division within regulatory timeframes
  • Assisting Damage Prevention Staff as assigned
