About The Position

The Compliance Investigator position is primarily responsible for screening and reporting serious events to regulators. The role involves conducting behavioral health investigations that allege abuse, neglect, or exploitation of vulnerable adults. The Compliance Investigator will assist the Director of Compliance with internal investigations related to incident reports, program integrity issues, and client concerns. This position requires screening incident reports to determine if they meet criteria for an investigation and ensuring their proper completion and/or dissemination. Additionally, the Compliance Investigator will provide consultation and training on Mandatory Abuse Reporting requirements and assist with compliance tracking for audit discrepancies. The role also includes conducting audits of documentation in client files to ensure that documentation matches billing, activity, and state content requirements, as well as tracking corrective action plans as needed. The Compliance Investigator will prepare and compile proposals, reports, manuals, and procedures for the Compliance Department and assist with the annual organization-wide risk assessment and compliance plan.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification of Completion of Oregon Abuse Investigation training or ability to get certified within 90 days of hire.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Clear understanding of confidentiality laws such as HIPAA and other state laws regarding protected health information (PHI).
  • Customer service skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in electronic health records.

Responsibilities

  • Screen and report serious events to regulators.

  • Assist the Director of Compliance with internal investigations related to incident reports and client concerns.
  • Screen incident reports to determine if they meet criteria for investigation.
  • Provide consultation and training on Mandatory Abuse Reporting requirements.
  • Conduct audits of documentation in client files to ensure compliance with billing and state requirements.
  • Assist with compliance tracking for audit discrepancies.
  • Track corrective action plans as assigned by the Director of Compliance.
  • Prepare and compile proposals, reports, manuals, and procedures for the Compliance Department.
  • Assist with internal program and personnel investigations assigned by the Director of Compliance.
  • Assist with the annual organization-wide risk assessment and compliance plan.
  • Track and trend compliance data associated with incident reports and investigations.
