About The Position

The Product Compliance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all FBIN products comply with relevant regulations, standards, and customer requirements. This role involves developing and implementing compliance strategies, organizing third party product testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain the highest standards of product safety and quality. May require occasional travel for audits, testing, or regulatory meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product compliance OR Bachelor's Degree in any STEM related major with 5-7 years of experience in product compliance.
  • Knowledge and facilitative skill with compliance and/or regulatory requirements, Listings, certifications, and process development.
  • Experience working with third-party testing agencies.
  • Detailed knowledge of test systems and methods.
  • Able to read product design drawings and technical documentation.
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and analytical skills and be able to deal with fluctuating priorities; be a self-starter and work with minimum supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with building material products (Doors, Locks, Decking, Plumbing etc/., with focus on one or more areas.
  • Experience working with ERP systems like SAP/Oracle etc
  • Experience working with a PLM System (ex: 3DX, Windchill etc).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME for compliance standards for various FBIN Products.
  • Support FBIN NPD Projects, with compliance requirements, certification testing, listing to enable launch of products in a timely manner.
  • Stay up to date and advise the organization on compliance with international, federal, and local regulations (e.g., FCC, CE, UL, RoHS, REACH)
  • Organize third-party product testing to verify compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of compliance activities, test results, and certifications.
  • Utilize PLM software to capture key compliance documentation and link to specific product.
  • Work closely with R D, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Marketing teams to integrate compliance requirements into product development and lifecycle management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product compliance and safety.
  • Establish and manage standardized procedures for addressing customer inquiries, offering clear technical support and guidance on compliance-related matters.
  • Support internal and external audits, including supplier compliance evaluations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for internal teams on compliance standards and best practices as needed.
