The Safety and Compliance team ensures that products, processes, and operations adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and standards. We play a crucial role in safeguarding worker health, product safety, and environmental protection, while also minimizing liability for Copeland. This involves a combination of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and strong communication skills. You'll gain knowledge and develop expertise across a variety of standards and legislations, work with a diverse global team to support New Product Development, and collaborate with Enterprise legal and compliance colleagues to standardize environmental protections and minimize liability.

Requirements

• Strong interest in regulatory affairs or regulatory science
• Experience or interest in analog/digital circuit design.
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and microcontroller firmware development.
• Understanding of regulatory standards such as FCC, CE, RoHS, REACH, ANSI, UL, IEC (or willingness to learn).
• Strong documentation and report writing skills.
• Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline
• Ability to work during the summer intern term May 18, 2026 - August 14, 2026
• Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

• Anticipated Graduation of May 2027

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement compliance programs aligned with industry regulations and company policies.
• Conduct internal and external audits to identify and resolve compliance issues.
• Provide support on compliance matters across product design, manufacturing, and operations.
• Investigate non-compliance incidents and support corrective actions.
• Create and deliver training programs on compliance standards and best practices.
