A day in the life. The Compliance Consultant will address a wide variety of ad hoc compliance questions; manage the compliance schedule of clients including all the regulatory notification and requirements associated with a employee benefit program (fully insured, self-funded and alternative programs); assist with client appeals; peer reviewing articles and presentations, participating in prospect meetings, client meetings, and employee benefit department team meetings. This position can be located in the tri-state area. Our future colleague. We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes the following: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university or similarly recognized educational institution. At least 3 years of experience focusing on U.S. health and welfare benefits, specifically including ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and the Affordable Care Act. General knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of employer-provided group health and fringe benefit programs. Able to work effectively on a team as the compliance subject matter expert. Able to read, analyse, and interpret a variety of statutory, regulatory, and other related technical guidance and material. Able to conduct a compliance assessment for an existing employee benefit program, including providing solutions and guiding the process for obtaining compliance in any deficient areas. Able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions with support from senior COE staff. Able to draft intellectual capital and business correspondence for laypersons (support is available from COE staff). Able to participate in the presentation of information and responses to questions in both group and one-on-one settings. Leave management knowledge is a plus Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and organize own workload. Strong relationship builder and partner to the business. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
