About The Position

Perform an audit in reviewing ALL Rose Hills and Outside Mortuary cases in detail to ensure compliancy with company policy & state and federal regulations. As a Compliance Checker, this position is responsible for ensuring that Funeral and Cemetery arrangement details are finalized with a high level of accuracy before final disposition occurs. Essential Job Functions: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Ensure compliancy with state and federal laws and established company rules and regulations, by ensuring that documentation and HMIS system to support the disposition of remains is complete, accurate, and archived Be proactive and timely while auditing cases and withhold a 48-72 hour platform Stay updated on changes with company rules and regulations, State and Federal regulations while participating in training and skills development opportunities Communicate inaccuracies, omissions in a professional and timely manner with vigilant follow up to provide a satisfactory resolution Carefully review required consent and authorization forms for accuracy and compliancy including Name Change Affidavits as necessary Perform congruency check on additional service providers and all cases; report any discrepancies for quick resolution Audit contractual agreements (statement of goods and services) and confirm payments including cash, credit card, AFF, AML, Rose Hills & SCI trust, Forethought and financed contracts Work according to safety standards set by the company, and by state and federal agencies. Report unsafe conditions to management. Understand and achieve annual SMART Goals. Report to work on time, work occasional overtime, and maintain standard attendance. Must be willing to work a rotating schedule, including; weekends, holidays, and be open to supporting cross functional departments Remain courteous, professional and supportive while using discretion to report any issues and/or discrepancies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a business environment (knowledge of Mortuary and/or Cemetery preferred) specifically in area of Compliance
  • High School Diploma, or GED
  • Close attention to detail while performing audits
  • Ability to strongly uphold Rules & Regulations, State & Federal laws
  • Ability to problem solve and suggest solutions
  • Communicate with co-workers with prudence, expertise and desire to provide excellent serviced to families
  • Knowledge of navigating through HMIS
  • Excellent telephone, radio and email etiquette
  • Ability to multitask successfully
  • Friendly, warm, and approachable manner either in-person or over the phone
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Outlook
  • Have a valid CA Driver’s License and clean record
  • Keyboard at 40 wpm
