About The Position

The Compliance and Privacy Manager oversees various compliance risk areas including general compliance, fraud, waste and abuse, patient and employee confidentiality, accountable care organization compliance, and Medicare compliance program requirements. The Manager supports the Director of Corporate Compliance in implementing policies and procedures, conducting compliance training, and performing investigations. They are responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the compliance program and maintaining the integrity of compliance investigations.

Requirements

  • Experience in compliance and privacy management.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations and guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement compliance training programs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in conducting audits and risk assessments.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in healthcare compliance (e.g., CHC, CCEP).
  • Experience with HIPAA regulations and compliance.
  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee compliance risk areas including general compliance, fraud, waste and abuse, and patient confidentiality.
  • Support the Director of Corporate Compliance in implementing policies and procedures.
  • Conduct compliance training and investigations.
  • Perform compliance program effectiveness reviews based on established guidelines.
  • Maintain a reporting system and ensure integrity of compliance investigations.
  • Direct and coordinate internal audits and monitor HIPAA/Patient Privacy compliance.
  • Follow up on reported incidents of non-compliance and prepare reports on findings.
  • Assess compliance of organizational policies and assist in policy development.
  • Evaluate potential billing, Stark, Anti-kickback compliance, and patient privacy risks.
  • Manage and investigate compliance questions, complaints, and incidents.
  • Conduct data analytics for compliance program monitoring and auditing.
  • Develop organizational-wide compliance communication plans and training programs.
  • Coordinate HIPAA Security compliance activities.
  • Investigate HIPAA-related complaints and draft reports.
  • Review business associate agreements and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits for assigned compliance risk areas.
  • Conduct compliance and privacy training and education.
  • Prepare and present educational materials on compliance topics.
  • Draft compliance and HIPAA-related policies and procedures.
  • Assist in conflict-of-interest reviews and determinations.
