About The Position

Our commercial portfolio includes the first and only FDA-approved treatments for Parkinson’s disease psychosis and Rett syndrome. We are developing the next wave of therapeutic advancements with a robust and diverse pipeline that includes mid- to late-stage programs in Alzheimer’s disease psychosis and Lewy body dementia psychosis, along with earlier-stage programs that address other underserved patient needs. The Privacy & Compliance Intern supports the Compliance team by contributing to strategic initiatives, operational projects, and day-to-day business activities. They will work on a Privacy-focused project for the summer that gives them an opportunity to work cross-functionally across other business teams inside of Acadia. They will also work with the entire Compliance department to learn how they perform their daily responsibilities and job functions. This role is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional pharmaceutical environment, offering exposure to cross-functional collaboration, business processes, and industry best practices. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s or Juris Doctorate degree with relevant coursework in Economics, Public Policy/Political Science, Business Courses, or Pre-Law coursework.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience with typical MS Office programs such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong organization skills & experience with complicated research projects and/or flowcharts a plus.
  • Prior internship, leadership experience, campus involvement, or project-based work preferred.
  • Interest in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete a Privacy-focused project for the summer.
  • Ensure confidential information is handled with honesty and integrity.
  • Participate in projects and assist team members in completing various tasks.
  • Work as part of a team to assist with legal & compliance research and resource development.
  • Participates in team meetings, planning sessions, and strategic discussions to gain exposure to business operations and contribute insights where appropriate.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and alignment with company values in all interactions.
  • Completes a capstone project or final presentation summarizing internship contributions and key learnings.
