About The Position

Adventist Healthcare seeks to hire an experienced Compliance and Coding Analyst for our Organizational Integrity department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Compliance and Coding Analyst, you will:

Requirements

  • High School diploma, associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years job job-related experience in a Compliance Auditing or related position.
  • Extensive experience in creating compliance reports
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with rules and regulations pertaining to federally funded programs (e.g., Medicare and Medicaid), along with knowledge of documentation requirements for coding and billing.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Point and Outlook.
  • Must obtain one of the following current certifications within 2 years of hire: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Risk Coder (CRC), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the program manager with conducting a high volume of coding compliance audits across Adventist HealthCare (AHC) in accordance with the Department Work Plan.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of the AHC Organizational Integrity/Compliance Program, including intake of compliance concerns and creating reports.
  • Assists with development, updating, maintenance, and disseminating training and education materials to AHC clinicians, managers, and coding department staff. Provide material and conduct presentations for Compliance education programs as needed.
  • Performs independent research, assessment, and remains current with CMS, and Office of Inspector General (OIG) regulations, guidelines, bulletins, coding practices & methods, annual, semi-annual, and quarterly coding updates and other publications for impact on Institutional services.
  • Assists with providing recommendations and feedback to leaders to improve and optimize compliant coding, billing, or documentation practices. Respond to all inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
