About The Position

Progress Mfg. Inc. is seeking a Complex Maintenance Technician. The CNC and Complex Systems Maintenance Technician will be responsible to perform, schedule, oversee, and perform tool life management maintenance for all Robots, CNC, PLC and other logic-controlled systems. The Technician will be required to make the approved computer controller programming modifications to accommodate minor changes in material and other processes. The Technician will also troubleshoot equipment failures and determine the likely cause of failure and then make appropriate decisions to return the system to operational service. In addition, the maintenance technician will be responsible to perform facilities repairs and services to adequately maintain facilities. Also, responsible to create and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule over assigned machines, keep records on maintenance jobs and tasks performed.

Requirements

• Completion of a 2 year post high school degree in maintenance technology or equivalent training is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician, Electrician or other complex system maintenance and repair.
• Proficient in machine operations that include robotics and CNC machining.
• Working knowledge of Office applications.
• Ability to write and understand CNC machining codes G and M.
• Ability to write and understand Fanuc controls and coding.
• Experience in setting up and calibrating machines, jigs fixtures and tooling for a variety of jobs.
• Practical knowledge of production processes particularly automated and computer-controlled manufacturing machinery.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and convert fractions.
• Practical knowledge and experience of industrial electricity, basic mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, basic plumbing systems, and compressed air systems.
• Problem solving / troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Creative, self-motivated, and team-oriented with the ability to take a project from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, maintain and manage all assigned machines and equipment throughout Progress Mfg. facilities.
• Communicate, cooperate and plan effectively to accomplish job duties.
• Be goal-oriented and seek continual improvement in assigned areas and responsibilities.
• Coordinate repairs and services with Production Manager and other maintenance personnel.
• Maintain downtime records and monitor equipment for indications of failures.
• Maintain records that capture maintenance time and expenses.
• Assist manager with budget preparation and management.
• Perform reactive maintenance (repairing down machines).
• Manage and perform tool life on all Machining Centers.
• Maintain and update data entry and tracking in the Computer Managed Maintenance System (CMMS).
• Adjust or correct service intervals as required.
• Ensure required consumables are on hand and inventory is correctly managed.
• Fabricate items to support facility maintenance.
• Maintain, repair and upgrade compressed air systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and physical structures.
• Maintain or increase safety at the workplace in all functions.
• Follow Lock out Tag Out procedures and conduct inspections of machines and vehicles.
• Maintain a clean and organized tool room and maintenance supply areas.
