About The Position

At Thyme Care, physicians are central to how we care for people with cancer and other serious, chronic conditions. As a Physician – Complex Care, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care to members with complex medical needs while also supporting the clinical strength of the broader care team. You’ll work in a fully virtual, interdisciplinary model alongside Community Health Workers, Oncology Nurses, Social Workers, and Nurse Practitioners. Together, you’ll help members address both clinical and social needs, and ensure care remains aligned with each member’s goals. In this role, you will: Provide virtual urgent or same-day clinical visits when needed, using sound clinical judgment and evidence-based care to guide assessment, triage, and next steps. You may work with a field-based community health worker to facilitate the telemedicine visit Conduct virtual post-discharge clinical visits, following evidence-based guidelines to ensure members transition safely to the outpatient setting. You may work with a field-based community health worker to facilitate the telemedicine visit. Partner with the care team to develop and adjust individualized care plans that reflect members’ evolving needs and goals. Lead interdisciplinary case conferences, offering clinical insight on complex or advanced cases and helping guide decision-making. Collaborate closely with Nurse Practitioners to support consistent, high-quality care and shared clinical standards. Contribute to ongoing clinical quality and program development through education, feedback, strong documentation, and participation in clinical initiatives. Communicate and coordinate with external oncology and primary care providers to support continuity and reduce fragmentation across care settings. This role reports to the Senior Medical Director. The role is remote-friendly within the United States, and candidates based anywhere in the U.S. are encouraged to apply. We strongly prefer physicians located in Georgia, given collaboration needs and operational alignment, but exceptional candidates in other states will be considered. All patient interactions are virtual via video, phone, text, or Thyme Care’s care platform. You may occasionally provide backup weekend and holiday coverage support for the Nurse Practitioner team.

Requirements

  • Board-certified physician in internal medicine, with a strong interest in the management of complex comorbid conditions.
  • Unrestricted medical license and willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
  • Demonstrated excellence in virtual or telehealth care delivery, communication, and documentation.
  • Experienced in managing medically complex patients, supporting shared decision-making, and working closely with interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Comfortable using technology in daily practice (video visits, EHRs, Google Suite, Slack, AI-enabled tools).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a startup or value-based-care organization.
  • Interest in leveraging data and innovation to improve oncology care.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting an interdisciplinary team.
