About The Position

The Complex Business Travel Sales Manager is responsible for the profitable development of revenue for Corporate Transient Sales through proactive sales efforts aimed at retaining and developing existing customers while winning new clients within assigned industry and geographical sectors. This role focuses on selling rooms and suites, achieving targeted revenue goals, and maintaining strong relationships with Corporate Travel Managers, Procurement Officers, Business Travel Agents, and High-End Leisure Agents. The position requires preparing proposals and contracts promptly, collaborating with the Leading Hotels of The World and Hersha National BT Sales team, and building consistent volume from existing corporate accounts. The manager will also be responsible for developing new markets, generating promotional ideas, and facilitating VIP reservations.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of sales experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • College degree in hospitality or business administration.
  • Extensive experience in a similar luxury establishment.
  • Experience in corporate sales and high-end leisure travel agencies is an advantage.
  • Specific strategic or operational knowledge needed to perform the job.
  • Knowledge of SalesPro, Delphi & Opera software is a plus.
  • Understanding of financial accounting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Concentrate efforts on selling rooms and suites to achieve targeted revenue goals.
  • Conduct sales visits and maintain relationships with Corporate Travel Managers, Procurement Officers, Business Travel Agents, and High-End Leisure Agents.
  • Prepare proposals and contracts in a timely manner and follow up with customers within 24 hours.
  • Collaborate with Leading Hotels of The World and Hersha National BT Sales team to receive new opportunities and bid requests.
  • Build and maintain consistent volume from existing corporate accounts and high-end travel agents.
  • Write individual sales action plans quarterly and monthly when requested.
  • Stay knowledgeable about competition and join pertinent associations for networking.
  • Pass relevant information on signed contracts to Reservation/Revenue Manager.
  • Conduct entertainment and site inspections for customer contacts.
  • Review daily arrivals and directories for potential business.
  • Plan local events to promote the hotel to the local market.
  • Recommend qualified FAM trips to increase market share.
  • Develop new markets and sources of business for Corporate Transient sales.
  • Generate new ideas for promotions and partnerships to build visibility and revenue.
  • Facilitate VIP reservations with volume accounts and high-end travel agencies.
  • Attend tradeshows, sales trips, and industry functions.
  • Maintain contact with historical and lapsed clients.
  • Work additional hours as needed and take on special assignments from the Director of Sales.
  • Assist team in answering phones during peak hours.
