About The Position

The Complaint Intake Coordinator for the Consumer Credit Unit serves as a vital role in processing consumer complaints and ensuring compliance with various consumer protection laws in Colorado. This position is designed for an experienced compliance professional who is dedicated to protecting consumers and providing exceptional regulatory support. The coordinator will work collaboratively with unit staff to analyze complaints, identify violations, and communicate effectively with consumers and industry members.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of professional experience in regulatory compliance, complaint intake and review, or compliance work related to licensing.
  • A combination of full-time closely related college course work and/or professional experience in regulatory compliance, complaint intake and review, or compliance work related to licensing totaling five (5) years.

Responsibilities

  • Process incoming consumer complaints and collaborate with unit staff regarding compliance of regulatory programs.
  • Answer calls from consumers seeking information on regulated agencies and industries.
  • Conduct initial reviews, gather facts, analyze and research complaints, and identify potential violations of statutes.
  • Identify complaints concerning entities under investigation or subject to pending litigation.
  • Develop written communication with industry members and consumers regarding the status, outcome, or resolution of complaints.
  • Assist in contacting other state and federal agencies when applicable.
  • Manage the collection of complaint data by gathering, reviewing, and distributing complaint intake documents.
  • Provide substantive information about consumer credit and collection laws in response to public inquiries.
  • Analyze compliance trends in the industry.
  • Escalate complaints to the appropriate examiners when necessary.
