Overview The primary duty of the Competitive Pool Technician is to maintain the pool chemistry and appropriate records to assure compliance with federal, state, and county pool and spa sanitation codes and regulations. Competitive Pool Technician should coordinate with supervisors and managers when to test the water and clean the pool and surrounding equipment for all three pools at the GAC. This role will pay an hourly rate of $15.00-$17.00. For part-time roles: Benefits: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. This position will remain open until July 17th 2026.
Requirements
- Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted in deep water.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects.
- Must have knowledge of standards and health codes for swimming pools.
Nice To Haves
- 1-2 years of pool technician experience preferred.
- Current CPO certification a plus.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of pools by testing water chemistry.
- Record and report any variances or issues to the full-time Pool Technician.
- Vacuum and brush all pools to maintain cleanliness.
- Understand and be able to respond quickly and appropriately to fecal incidents requiring immediate action and following precise procedures.
- Clean surrounding equipment and rooms by scrubbing, shining, and pressure washing gutters, handrails, steps, diving apparatus, lifeguard chairs, decks, locker rooms, etc.
- Report any maintenance issues.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
