About The Position

We are seeking reliable, detail-oriented Servers and Clerks to support the smooth operation of professional olive oil, wine, spirits, dairy competitions. These roles are essential to ensuring accurate product handling, efficient service to judges, and strict adherence to competition protocols. Ideal candidates are organized, discreet, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Requirements

  • Olive Oil, Wine, Spirits, Dairy knowledge or experience in competitions
  • Previous experience in service, hospitality, events, or clerical work preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instruction
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints
  • Skilled in identifying and recommending solutions to problems
  • Skilled in working with deadlines to complete projects and assignments
  • Must be a team player, with solid work and behavioral ethics
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have completed ABC/RBS/Responsible Beverage Service certification
  • Must adhere to all ABC regulations
  • Must have completed State Food Handlers Certification
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Ability to walk and stand for 8 hours a day
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
  • Availability for full competition days, including early mornings
  • Punctuality is essential

Responsibilities

  • Provide world-class service to our judges by assisting with all aspects of the competition
  • Follow all competition rules, procedures, and timelines
  • Maintain a professional, neutral demeanor
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations
  • Work efficiently and quietly to avoid disrupting judges
  • Assist with setting up and breakdown of judging areas as needed
  • Prepare, pour, and serve samples to judges according to competition standards
  • Ensure correct bottle placement, flight order, and pour consistency
  • Monitor glassware, water, and supplies throughout judging sessions
  • Accurately record judges’ scores, notes, and awards (paper or digital systems)
  • Verify product identification numbers and flight information
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of competition results
  • Assist with organizing paperwork, score sheets, and medals
  • Communicate clearly with servers, stewards, judges, and supervisors
  • Uphold safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol handling standards
  • Performing other duties as required by the Programming Department/Competition Coordinators
