About The Position

We’re seeking a highly driven Compensation Analyst to lead our equity administration and offer processes as Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies scales. You will be a utility player on the team - in addition to equity administration and partnership with the talent acquisition team, you will assist in our compensation cycles. You will be client-facing and bring a consultative mindset to work cross-functionally to support business needs. You will advise on compensation matters across the employee lifecycle with analytics to ensure we are providing competitive and equitable compensation, consistent with our compensation philosophy. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely administration of our equity programs, and partner with both external vendors and Rivian’s equity administration team to support our workforce. You will ensure our processes are compliant and standardized. Our goal is to create scalable, sustainable, cost effective and equitable compensation programs that will attract and retain talent. This role reports directly to the Head of Compensation and is located in our Palo Alto or Irvine, California office. This is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for developing strategy, building roadmaps on implementation, administration, communication, compliance, providing thought leadership and driving continuous improvement. This role will have individual contributor responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field and 6+ years of progressive compensation experience ideally in a high-growth, scaling, technology environment
  • Project management skills and can effectively balance competing priorities and driving key projects from concept to implementation
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a commitment to accuracy, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to varying audiences
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to explain complex ideas clearly
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Offer administration experience, including partnership with Talent Acquisition and ongoing process improvement on the end-to-end candidate lifecycle
  • Advanced proficiency with Workday and HRIS systems

Responsibilities

  • Business partnership with Rivian and Volkswagen Group leadership teams - understanding priorities, business needs, and communicating our rewards philosophy and data-based approach to leaders and employees
  • Building trust with the business through transparency, dialogue, and data sharing
  • End-to-end management of our vendor relationships with our equity partners. This includes managing a monthly grant issuance timeline, partnering with stakeholders, performing data audits. Partnership with finance team, vendors, legal and maintaining a strict control environment that is documented SOX compliant
  • Coordinating vest processing and share delivery, on a nearly monthly basis (there are generally eight vest events per year)
  • Coordinate payroll processing with both People Systems and Payroll teams
  • Own the communication and education about Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies programs, including new hire orientation, FAQs, and all mediums of communication to ensure new and existing employees have the appropriate information on our equity programs
  • Partner with our design and programs lead on business needs and communication roll-out for evolving design and practices as Rivian and Volkswagen Group continues to grow
