About The Position

The Compensation Manager - Americas is a strategic consultant to HR Business Partners and Business Leaders on compensation matters across North and South America. Avantor is looking for The Compensation Manager – Americas to join our organization as a strategic consultant to HR Business Partners and Business Leaders on compensation matters across North and South America. This will be a full-time remote position. Candidates must be able to work in EST time zone hours.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of 5 - 8 years of Human Resources experience preferred with an emphasis on compensation.
  • North and South Americas compensation or human resources experience.
  • Highly proficient excel skills, excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to approach work with a process orientation, exercise good judgment and communicate effectively with all those employed by the organization.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interaction skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently and proactively.

Responsibilities

  • Plays an active role in a variety of compensation projects - job titles/codes, annual benchmarking/pre-planning, salary structure, statutory wage planning, bonus design/harmonization and global job levelling.
  • Collaborate with HR Partners and various leadership teams to identify and address current and emerging total compensation trends and issues.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans, which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
  • Works with the HR Business Partners to evaluate and audit positions within the organization to ensure consistent and equitable compliance across all levels, as well as competitive pay levels with relevant external markets.
  • Ensures Company compensation programs and policies comply with all relevant government regulations, laws, employment standards, and agreements with labor unions.
  • Provides advice on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related issues.
  • Completes the annual competitive analysis process through survey participation, data analysis, and executive presentation.
  • May assist with ongoing maintenance of various compensation programs including updates in our global HRIS system, job description posting process, survey participation, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
