As a Compensation Consultant, you’ll be an integral part of a collaborative, agile team. You’ll act as a tactical and strategic, internal consultant for compensation projects, programs, administration, and initiatives to deliver the highest levels of service, as well as influence and improve the policies and procedures governing the compensation function. The Compensation Consultant position reports to the Vice President, HR Centers of Excellence and can be based out of our home office in Topeka, Kansas or our satellite office in Overland Park, Kansas. The Compensation Consultant will serve as a dedicated resource for compensation and will provide credible tactical and strategic consultation in support of the company. The position will be responsible for administering our annual compensation cycle to include milestone timelines, salary and incentive file audits, and compensation statement preparation and distribution. Builds strategic partnerships as a dedicated resource to the organization with a hyper focus on providing exceptional service and accuracy. Program manages completion of our annual census for 401(k) testing. Provides compensation related transactional support for HCM/Payroll updates including onboarding and offboarding. Manage data collection and reporting for compensation, budgeting, and international payroll. Lead and participate in various compensation-related projects and initiatives. Administer and develop policies, guidelines, procedures, and processes and recommend enhancements consistent with best practice trends and business objectives. Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and technical competencies required of this hybrid tactical and strategic role.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and apply discretion.
  • Solutions-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of compensation theories and their applications.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations controlling compensation.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures.
  • Well organized, independent, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
