About The Position

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you in the role of Compensation Analyst I. As part of Iowa State University's Human Resources Classification and Compensation team, this position assists in the implementation and administration of compensation programs, evaluates and classifies new and existing jobs, and analyzes various types of compensation information. The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to function and succeed in a dynamic environment. They will display strong creative problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and recommend practical solutions. The Compensation Analyst I will be responsible for: • Evaluation of classification requests including position description updates, reclassifications, new positions, and salary adjustments. • Participating in compensation surveys, coordinating job descriptions, and analyzing survey data. • Providing guidance and responds to routine compensation related questions. • Supporting the administration of performance appraisal and salary compensation programs. • Working on compensation related projects This is a 2-year term position with the potential for renewal contingent on funding. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience applying knowledge of classification principles and practices
  • Experience creating, working with, and maintaining Excel spreadsheets
  • Working knowledge of HR principles and practices, rules, regulations, trends, and developments
