About The Position

Altom Transport, a family-owned leader in bulk liquid transportation, is seeking dedicated and professional CDL A Tanker Drivers for Local, Regional, and Over-the-Road (OTR) positions. With over 10 strategic locations serving all 49 states and Canada, we offer stability, safety, and a sense of family in every mile. As a CDL A Tanker Driver, you will be responsible for transporting liquid bulk materials safely and efficiently, ensuring timely and secure deliveries based on your preferred driving route—Local, Regional, or Over the Road. This position operates out of our Louisville terminal. Altom Transport has a rigorous safety program that encompasses our onboarding process and new hire training within our safety department as well as mandatory quarterly safety meetings throughout our fleet. Our goal is to provide the best possible service to our customers, while providing all our drivers and employees with the tools and support necessary to be safe and professional employees on the public highways. Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A License
• Must hold a current X endorsement (Hazmat + Tanker)
• Tanker Endorsement (N) – Required
• Minimum 2 years of verifiable tanker driving experience within the last 5 years
• At least 23 years of age
• Clean MVR and strong safety record
• No DUI/OWI on record within the last 5 years
• Cannot be prohibited in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• No at fault/preventable fatal or rollover accident in the last 5 years
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
• No more than 2 CSA moving violations in the last 18 months
• No falsification on the driver’s application
• Able to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
• Dependable, safety-minded, and capable of working independently
• Pass General Awareness testing in accordance with 49 CFR 172-Part H
• Adhere to Drug & Alcohol Policy & DOT Compliance
• Comply with HSE policy

Nice To Haves

• Hazmat Endorsement (H) – Preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire; assistance available)
• TWIC Card – Preferred (or must obtain after hire)

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tanker trucks to transport liquid bulk materials to and from customer locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Load and unload tanker trucks using hoses or pumps while following all safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, inspections, and incidents.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the transportation of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a steady workload by meeting mileage or hour requirements to contribute to the overall success of the operation.
