About The Position

We are looking for an enthusiastic Companion to join our Private Duty Home Health team at Lake Seminole Square! Lake Seminole Square is seeking a hospitality‑focused, part-time Companion. This role is responsible for performing tasks that enable the resident to remain in the home by supplementing the resident's abilities for home management and provides services that enhance the resident’s quality of life. Services are non-skilled, non-nursing services that do not provide hands-on support. Short day shifts and some weekends.

Requirements

  • Is at least eighteen years of age.
  • Has the ability to read and follow written instructions and document services provided and is able to communicate effectively and clearly.
  • Has empathy and patience to support the needs of the senior population and understands the importance of providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Housekeeping
  • Tech support such as setting up, trouble shooting and teaching hardware and software
  • Shopping and errands
  • Meal preparation
  • Laundry, ironing
  • Pet care such as dog walking, litterbox care, and pet supply shopping
  • Transportation and escorts to appointments and social events
  • Companionship and entertainment
  • Home organization and seasonal decorating
  • Move-in and move-out assistance such as packing and unpacking
  • Trash removal
  • Communication and support related to sensory loss (low vision, hearing)
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the IHS Director
  • Observes the client for changes in general physical and mental conditions. Reports any changes noted to the care coordinator or supervisor.
  • Adheres to the documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
