About The Position

Companion (Resident Associate)LESS THAN 24 HRS/WEEKNorthcrest Community has an exciting opportunity for a friendly and caring individual to provide non-medical companionship, practical assistance and meaningful social interaction to residents to enhance their quality of life and independence. Requirements

Must possess, at a minimum, a 9th grade education
No experience required, training will be provided
A caring and empathetic attitude is a must
Scheduling flexibility
Must possess a reasonable understanding that resident needs and demands may change with little to no notice

Responsibilities

Assist residents in preparing for activities and social programs
Assist in transporting residents to/from meals, activities, social programs and appointments
Accompany residents to activities, outings, social programs and medical appointments
Accompany residents and encourage or assist participation in activities and social programs
Participate in activities cheerfully with resident; engage residents in their preferred activities; facilitate and lead activities as requested by the resident or directed by the Assisted Living Manager
Engage residents by conversing with them and accompanying them
Listen to resident needs, ensure their environment is clean and safe
Provide emotional support to residents through quality time and conversation
Offer encouragement and support to residents
Report changes in residents physical or mental health to the Assisted Living Manager or Charge Nurse on staff
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other departments within the community, to ensure that companion services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents and community
