This part-time afternoon position focuses on emotional support, encouragement, and ensuring safety while promoting independence and confidence. Requirements
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
- Physically able to lift 25 lbs., bend, kneel, and walk throughout the shift
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and registration
- Access to a mobile phone for scheduling and communication
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Must pass a background check
- Current TB test (can be completed after interview)
Responsibilities
- Provide emotional and physical support during recovery.
- Encourage healthy routines — including eating, hydration, and self-care.
- Offer calm presence and reassurance without pressure or intrusion.
- Maintain safety and supervision during key activities such as showering or mobility transitions.
- Help restore a sense of normalcy, confidence, and independence.
- Keep family informed of meaningful changes or observations that support ongoing care and well-being.
- Companionship and emotional support
- Light housekeeping, laundry, and meal prep
- Dementia or Alzheimer’s care assistance
- Personal care: bathing, dressing, toileting, hygiene
- Safe transfers using gait belts and Hoyer lifts (training provided)
- Transporting clients to outings, errands, and appointments
- Promoting safety, dignity, and comfort at all times
