About The Position

The Compactor-Baler Repair Technician at Impact Environmental Group plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing compactors and balers used in waste management. This hands-on position involves diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring that equipment operates efficiently to support environmental sustainability. The technician will work remotely, dispatched from home to various job sites, and may also assist in shop tasks when site work is limited.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Experience as a compactor technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and electrical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and identify issues with compactors quickly and accurately.
  • Weld and perform mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Use tools for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance effectively.
  • Understand compactor operations and troubleshoot issues.
  • Lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
  • Provide detailed reports of machine conditions before and after repairs.
