About The Position

The Complimentary Breakfast Attendant plays a vital role in delivering a welcoming and satisfying guest experience during the hotel's breakfast service. This role position combines food service responsibilities with host duties to ensure guests feel valued and well cared for from the moment they arrive. The attendant is responsible for preparing, stocking, and maintaining the breakfast area, ensuring food items are fresh, appealing, and compliant with health and safety standards. As a host, the attendant greets guests warmly, assists with seating when needed, answers questions about menu items and hotel amenities, and provides personalized service to enhance the overall guest experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly, proactive attitude to create a clean, comfortable, and inviting environment for all guests.

Requirements

  • Previous restaurant experience.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift heavy objects.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
  • The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.

Responsibilities

  • Answer guests questions about food and drinks, including ingredients and preparation details.
  • Greet newly seated guests warmly and in a friendly manner.
  • Take drink orders upon guest arrival, deliver beverages, and offer appetizers.
  • Merchandise menu items, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
  • Quickly process orders using the Point of Sale (P.O.S.) system.
  • Follow alcohol awareness procedures to prevent guest intoxication.
  • Attend to guests’ needs during food delivery and check back to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain tables by monitoring drink levels, removing clutter, and providing extra napkins if needed.
  • Calculate the total bill accurately and present the check when removing the last plate or upon request
  • Handle currency exchanges appropriately.
  • Keep the station clean and organized.
  • Promptly inform the immediate supervisor of any significant problems or unusual matters.
  • Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the hotel, including those in the employee handbook.
  • Be aware that the hotel operates 24/7, and department schedules may require flexibility beyond preferred or normal shifts.
