About The Position

The Commuter Life Assistant position at Liberty University is designed for campus leaders who are dedicated to enhancing the commuter student experience through hospitality, engagement, and service. This role involves supporting the Commuter Life Team and representing the Office of Student Life, with a focus on creating a welcoming environment for commuter students and assisting with various operational and event-related tasks.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
  • GPA of 2.5 or above.
  • Some experience in a volunteer or service capacity.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • 1-2 years in a volunteer/service capacity and customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Office of Student Life through reception, email inbox management, and tabling at campus events.
  • Support commuter engagement through lounge operations, hospitality, coffee management, and event planning and support.
  • Serve commuter student needs through the Commuter Food Pantry, Community Board management, and Commuter Locker assignments.
  • Support commuter student development through program preparation and support and coordinating social connections and personal growth.
  • Receive training and ongoing development through team training, professional development, mentorship, and special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
