About The Position

San Diego Humane Society is hiring Part-Time Community Veterinary Program (CVP) Associates for our San Diego Campus! How you’ll impact our mission: At San Diego Humane Society, we’re united by our mission to Inspire Compassion. The Community Veterinary Program (CVP) department is a new initiative focused on connecting pet families with resources to improve the health and quality of life of pets and the people who love them. As the typical first point of contact for guests visiting or calling the CVP team, Community Veterinary Program Associates (CVPA) proactively remove barriers to accessing care for animals in our community. Your primary responsibilities include administrative duties, animal handling and championing the cause of vital community programs such as the Vaccine Clinics (for the public), Community Spay and Neuter (CSN), the Voucher Program, Community Cat Program (CCP), Community Outreach Events, and new and emerging programs in El Centro and Baja. This role delivers service at the gold standard level in alignment with the SDHS Way, to meet the needs of animals and the people who love them by leading with compassion, finding creative solutions, providing personalized care and building connections. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years’ experience in customer services/guest relations preferred.
  • One year experience working with animals in a shelter, kennel, vet clinic or volunteer environment preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual skills a plus, bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Valid passport or ability obtain a passport within one (1) year of appointment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for CVP and work to resolve challenging guest interactions or other issues with resource navigation.
  • Perform clerical duties such as data entry, operating multi-line phones, filing and record keeping as necessary.
  • Perform other administrative responsibilities such as billing, billing re-conciliation, data collection and analyzation, using MSOffice suite or appropriated tools as directed.
  • Provide clerical support for our Community Cat Program, Medical department and other departments as needed.
  • Schedule and maintain guest appointments for veterinary clinics and assist with scheduling appointments for Foster & Rescue and Community Cat Program as needed.
