About The Position
The Department of Commerce strives to make sure Montana is the best place to work, live and play. The Community MT Division strengthens Montana communities by supporting sustainable development of our charming, vibrant towns. Our staff are experts in the growth and development of communities to promote improved public infrastructure, economic resilience, and downtown revitalization through comprehensive planning and locally determined goals and objectives. Alongside our community, local and tribal government partners we are building vibrant places where people want to live and visit. The Community Technical Assistance Program (CTAP) provides professional planning assistance to communities across Montana in support of sound land use and development decisions, economic revitalization, and overall community resilience. Technical assistance is provided through workshops and trainings, direct assistance by phone or email, collaboration with local, state, and federal partners, the creation of model documents, and guidance on planning best practices.
