About The Position

Great Livin' in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a full-time Community Support Staff (CCS) / Caregiver to assist and support individuals in the community to achieve their goals. This entry-level caregiver position offers a competitive wage of $15.00 - $18.00 an hour, along with exceptional benefits. The company is dedicated to and passionate about the well-being of people living with intellectual disabilities, operating eight supported-living homes where staff help residents learn life skills, build relationships, and optimize individual functioning through tailored strategies, services, and supports. Team members are expected to be quick-thinking, responsible, and excellent problem solvers, bringing ideas and positive energy to the residents' environment. The role involves providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities on the DD Waiver (DDW) during various community events and activities, such as movies, concerts, bike riding, hiking, fishing, and swimming, based on their interests. Staff assist individuals in developing strategies for informed decision-making and creating a meaningful day, while also modeling appropriate social skills and behaviors. Using effective teaching and mentoring techniques, the Community Support Staff helps participants learn new skills and achieve goals, facilitating their access to the community through educational and recreational activities. The position also requires maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation and promptly reporting any health or safety concerns. The work is described as highly rewarding, supporting people with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives according to their own needs and abilities.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint and background check
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Ability to attain job-related certifications and trainings as deemed necessary by Great Livin' LLC or the state of New Mexico

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities on the DD Waiver (DDW) during community events and activities such as movies, concerts, bike riding, hiking, fishing, swimming, based on their interests.
  • Assist and support individuals to develop strategies utilized to make informed decisions and develop a meaningful day.
  • Model appropriate social skills and behaviors.
  • Work with participants to learn new skills and achieve goals using effective teaching and mentoring techniques.
  • Help individuals get better access to the community by assisting them with educational and recreational activities.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Promptly report any concerns about individuals' health or safety.
