The position involves teaching, modeling, and coaching activities of daily living (ADL) such as personal hygiene, housekeeping, meal preparation, money management, educational and vocational goal-setting, and nutrition needs. The role includes monitoring performance of ADL skills and providing therapeutic feedback. Additionally, the position requires teaching psychoeducation classes on recovery topics, planning and facilitating community-based activities, and contributing to a safe and therapeutic environment through verbal de-escalation and behavior management techniques. The individual will serve as an ambassador for SCS, integrating clients into the community and educating community members about disabilities and SCS’s services. Collaboration with community systems on behalf of individuals served is essential, as well as providing transportation and personal care as needed. The role also includes administering First Aid and CPR, supervising self-administered medication, and maintaining confidentiality of protected health information. The position requires participation in staff meetings and ongoing skill enhancement.
