About The Position

Be part of a dynamic care team supporting adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. As a Community Support Specialist on the Integrated Treatment for Co-occurring Disorders (ITCD) team, you’ll walk alongside clients in their recovery journey—connecting them to resources, building skills, and promoting whole-person wellness in real-life settings. About the ITCD Program: The Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders (ITCD) program provides specialized, person-centered care for individuals experiencing both mental health and substance use disorders. Through a holistic, team-based approach, the program focuses on treating the whole person—not just symptoms—by integrating behavioral health and addiction services into a unified treatment plan. Requirements

  • High School/GED required
  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field preferred
  • Must qualify for position based on overall CSS requirements in at least one of the options listed: o Qualified addiction professional; o Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from a college or university included in the U.S. Department of Education’s database of accredited schools at http:/ope.ed.gov/accreditation; o Any four-year degree or combination of higher education and qualifying experience; o Four years of qualifying experience; or o Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree as designated by the Department of Mental Health.
  • Qualifying experience must include delivery of service to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities.
  • A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required

Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients and families using a motivational, strengths-based approach to support progress toward recovery and resiliency goals.
  • Provide individualized, holistic services addressing both mental health and substance use needs, incorporating the Eight Dimensions of Wellness.
  • Assist clients in developing and achieving personalized Wellness Plans, accessing needed services such as healthcare, housing, financial assistance, and community resources.
  • Offer education, coaching, and skill-building to promote wellness, recovery, and independent living.
  • Facilitate group-based services such as early recovery, family support, co-occurring treatment, and wellness programs.
  • Collaborate closely with an integrated treatment team—including medical, clinical, and peer support staff—to ensure coordinated, culturally responsive care.
  • Participate in treatment planning, team meetings, and fidelity reviews to support high-quality, evidence-based service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and meet service expectations in alignment with agency standards.
  • Provide transportation and other direct supports as clinically indicated.
  • Driving is an essential function of this position.
