At The Faison Center, a nationally recognized leader in disability services, the Community Support Coach plays a vital role in supporting adult clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. This position is centered around creating life-changing opportunities for individuals, helping them pursue maximal independence, growth, and fulfillment. The Faison Residence, which features 45 apartments, includes units specifically designed for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, fostering an integrated community environment. As a Community Support Coach, you will be responsible for the development of daily life skills and health and recreation programs. This includes teaching new skills, managing behaviors, and maximizing independence in activities of daily living. The work primarily occurs in the apartment building but also extends to various community-based settings. This role is essential to the daily operations of the program, and individuals in this position are considered Essential Personnel, requiring availability during inclement weather and crisis situations. The position offers a flexible schedule, with opportunities for full-time, part-time, nights, and weekends. Coaches will engage in one-to-one and small group instruction, facilitating participation in social, recreational, and leisure activities. You will collect data to measure individual progress and work collaboratively with a team to help individuals achieve meaningful outcomes and improve their quality of life.
