The Massachusetts Port Authority is offering a 13-week paid summer job opportunity for students who are interested in gaining experience in our Aviation departments. The positions are available at Boston Logan International Airport and East Boston Parks in East Boston as well as Laurence G. Hanscom Field in Bedford. We also have opportunities within our Maritime division, located at the Conley Terminal in South Boston. We look forward to welcoming enthusiastic students to our team for the summer! ABOUT YOU These positions are ideal for students who thrive in both indoor and outdoor environments, performing daily maintenance and other operational tasks that keep our airport and maritime facilities functioning smoothly. This is an excellent opportunity for students to acquire practical job skills. Students will be assigned to work areas based on their interests and place of residence. Some areas may require day or evening schedules. Please specify any scheduling restrictions at the time of hire. Logan International Airport Customer Service Represents Massport by providing best-in-class customer support to passengers throughout the terminals. Assist travelers with directions, answering basic questions about airport services, and supporting queue management during peak travel times. Promotes Boston and New England tourist attractions, hospitality services and Logan Modernization through Massport’s Customer Service programs. Aviation Operations Assisting busing operations for passenger’s whose aircraft is parked at a remote hardstand, including helping facilitate bus loading and unloading. Support Operations personnel with various Terminal E arrival/departure duties. East Boston Parks Facilities Maintenance Support maintenance staff with daily upkeep of waterfront and park facilities, including light landscaping, litter collection, and general beautification tasks. Assist with basic repairs and maintenance activities, such as painting, equipment cleaning, and seasonal preparation of park spaces. Laurence G. Hanscom Field Airfield Duties Maintain the airfield’s neat appearance by trimming grass around runway and taxiway signs and lights. Assist with the painting of airfield and landside markings. Contribute to cleanliness by removing Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and trash both airside and landside. Conley Terminal Facilities Maintenance Engage in landscaping and meticulous grass cutting to maintain the aesthetic appeal of our facilities. Perform weed whacking tasks to ensure clean and well-manicured grounds. Undertake hand painting tasks to enhance the visual appeal and longevity of our infrastructure.

Requirements

  • At least 18-years-old
  • Available to work at least 40 hours per week over the summer
  • Able to pass a Massport controlled substances test and security background check

  • Preference will be given to students residing in the City of Boston, Chelsea, Revere or Winthrop
