The part-time Community Standards Resources Coordinator (CSRC) at Missouri Western State University (MWSU) plays a crucial role in fostering a positive residential life environment. This position is dedicated to helping students understand their rights and responsibilities within the campus community, promoting student retention, well-being, and social integrity. The CSRC engages with students who may be at risk of behavioral issues, providing support and resources to encourage their personal and educational development. By collaborating with various campus partners and applying restorative justice principles, the CSRC aims to create an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all residents.

  • Interpret and explain the Housing and Residence Life Community Standards points system and University policies to students.
  • Engage in interventions that support student success and guide students in improving their sense of community.
  • Educate students on their rights and responsibilities under the MWSU Student Code of Conduct and residence life handbooks.
  • Coordinate mediation and intervention between groups with differing identities or perspectives.
  • Connect students to appropriate on and off-campus resources for overall wellness support.
  • Provide feedback to the Assistant Vice President/Dean of Students and other housing staff on student conduct issues.
  • Assist in assessing the student conduct process.
  • Administer community standards meetings in a timely and fair manner.
  • Foster self-reflection and critical thinking in restorative justice meetings.
  • Apply restorative justice principles to ensure inclusivity in the residence community.
  • Assist during large-scale events hosted by Housing & Residence Life.
  • Maintain confidentiality of educational records in compliance with FERPA.
  • Bachelor's degree and work experience in a related field (conflict resolution, law, justice studies, student affairs, etc.).
  • Demonstrated empathy for students and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships across campus.
