About The Position

The Community Standards Manager at Southern New Hampshire University works with faculty, staff, and students to manage, track, and resolve violations of the Academic Integrity Policy and the Student Code of Conduct. This role ensures that students, faculty, and staff are educated about conduct, academic integrity policies, and associated judicial procedures. The manager educates students on their civil, ethical, individual, and social rights and responsibilities as a member of the university community, coordinates any required reviews or hearings, works with departments across the institution to research cases, communicates with students about resolutions and any sanctions, and follows-through with students to finalize conduct cases. The Community Standards Manager shares trends and concerns with leadership and identifies potential solutions. This position is a dual-place role, partially based in Manchester, NH, and requires employees to be able to commute to Manchester, NH on a regular basis for hybrid work. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of work experience in related field (e.g., conflict resolution, law or justice studies, risk management, student affairs, etc.).
  • Ability prioritize work, adapt to evolving priorities, balance competing needs, and effectively meet departmental deadlines.
  • Experience and/or training in managing conflicts between individuals and groups in student affairs/higher education.
  • Strong communication, conflict management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a working knowledge of relevant higher education laws, compliance issues, and regulations and the ability to objectively analyze complaint information within the context of organizational policies and procedures and external regulations.
  • Demonstrated use of the rules of Standard English grammar to write concise, analytical, and accurate correspondence, sanctions letters, case files, and other documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, PowerPoint, and Case Management System.
  • Experience with conduct related software for managing cases.

Responsibilities

  • Research and review student conduct and academic integrity cases as submitted by faculty, staff, and students.
  • Track progress and trends for both conduct and academic integrity cases and maintain case files and case summaries in database.
  • Present case summaries and recommendations with appropriate level of detail to leadership when needed.
  • Coordinate complex academic integrity and student conduct hearings with appropriate parties.
  • Communicate with students and other constituencies using sensitivity throughout the review or investigative process and deliver outcome to student.
  • Use judgement when identifying appropriate action for formal resolution with university policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and explain the Code of Conduct and Academic Integrity Policy, and other related policies for members of the university community.
  • Meet with students in person or virtually when needed to review concerns raised and resolve academic integrity and student conduct concerns.
  • Assign and track educational sanctions when appropriate.
  • Follow-up with students to ensure any sanctions are met.
  • Coordinate support for and case management of Title IX reports, in conjunction with the university Title IX and Equity Officer and other university offices, including the adjudication of reports filed.
  • Work with university leadership to improve the student experience by bringing forward recommendations for student programming, education, resources, etc., focused on academic integrity and professional conduct in the classroom.
  • Understand SNHU culture around topics such as judgement, communication, impact, innovation, passion, and selflessness while demonstrating these skills in the work they do and the service they give to our students.
  • Work as a member of a team with a willingness to support the overall success of the team.
