The position involves providing lead work direction and daily oversight of the Community Service Officer (CSO) Program, which consists of student assistants. Responsibilities include establishing work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing, and providing performance feedback. The role also involves training staff, assisting in recruiting and hiring, and promoting the program to the campus community. Additionally, the position is responsible for organizing community engagement opportunities, coordinating fleet management for Parking and UPD vehicles, and managing daily administrative functions. The incumbent will analyze and recommend job-specific policies to enhance departmental operations and support emergency preparedness duties. Customer service in the UPD and Parking Services office is also a key responsibility, along with performing other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Provide lead work direction and daily oversight of the Community Service Officer (CSO) Program.
  • Establish work schedules ensuring adequate staffing for various CSO duties.
  • Provide performance feedback, train staff, and assist in recruiting and hiring student assistants.
  • Promote the CSO program and educate the campus community through various outreach methods.
  • Organize, staff, promote, and create community engagement opportunities for the police department.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of Parking and UPD vehicles, acting as a liaison for fleet management.
  • Manage daily administrative functions including scheduling, animal control, and special event planning.
  • Assist with budget planning and implementation of strategic goals.
  • Analyze and recommend job-specific policies and procedures to enhance efficiencies.
  • Oversee monthly operation tests of Blue-Light Phones and Emergency Call Boxes.
  • Provide customer service in the UPD and Parking Services office.
  • General knowledge and skills in administrative and/or program field with foundational knowledge of public administration principles.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience in policy development or program improvement.
  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience in a public safety program.
  • Experience providing lead work direction to others.
  • Technical fluency with Microsoft Office Professional Suite and scheduling systems.
