About The Position

The Community Service Specialist I - Recreation Leader position at the City of Pomona is a part-time role focused on engaging and enriching the community through recreational activities. Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalency required.
• One (1) year of paid or volunteer experience or a combination of both in a recreational field or tutoring.
• Must possess and maintain a valid California Class 'C' driver's license and have a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual skills are preferred.
• College students in fields of Kinesiology, math, science, and language arts are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to the public; assist in planning activities and events.
• Lead and support group activities and programs such as indoor/outdoor games, sports, arts and crafts, special events and other related activities.
• Chaperone youth/after school participants on day excursions.
• Maintain and prepare sports equipment for any enrichments planned.
• Maintain a safe program environment for participants.
• Assist in supporting the opening and closing and cleanup of City facilities; ensure facilities are secure upon closing if applicable.
• Respond to the public; answer inquiries and give information pertaining to programs that are offered.
• Interact with co-workers at all levels of the City of Pomona and the public in a collaborative and customer service-oriented manner.
• Provide support in all areas of recreation/Outdoor & Active/ special event and parks as needed.
