About The Position
The Community Service Officer serves is a non-sworn, unarmed public safety officer. Provides assistance in maintaining a safe and secure campus environment. Works closely with law enforcement, campus staff, students, faculty and community members. Enhances community relations. Bucknell Public Safety is a MPOETC RECOGNIZED AGENCY. This casual opportunity is a BRIDGE FOR AN OUT OF STATE LATERAL POLICE OFFICER who has not obtained Act 120 certification to be hired as a Community Service Officer. The candidate will complete all assigned CSO duties and will be assigned to a shift. The candidate will be mentored and coached to pass the out of state act 120 waiver exam with a goal of 4 months post hire to pass the exam. The candidate will then move into a full time police officer role with Bucknell Public Safety upon successful completion of the test.
