The Community Service Officer is a uniformed, civilian employee under the direct supervision of a Patrol Shift Supervisor. The Community Service Officer is responsible for the performance of service related calls that do not involve in-progress criminal events, such as parking enforcement, vehicle lock-outs, animal complaints and traffic direction. The Community Service Officer also provides front-desk coverage, answers the non-emergency telephone calls, and assists citizens visiting the Police Station to file a report or seek police related assistance. This is an exciting opportunity for one seeking to assist law enforcement in providing public service. As an employee of the Mount Prospect Police Department, the Community Service Officer must comply with the orders, policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the Department. It is also expected that the Community Service Officer will perform in a courteous and professional manner in all dealings with the public and departmental personnel.
