About The Position

Implement a menu of needs-driven, high quality programs and services in adherence with the community school model, including but not limited to early childhood programs, expanded learning and enrichment opportunities, health services, parent/family engagement, adult education, direct material assistance, and interventions, and targets to chronically absent students; Advise the principal on how to integrate partners and community members into school governance structure (i.e., School Leadership, School Safety, Child Study, and Attendance teams); Work with the school administration to integrate academic and non-academic support with school priorities; Act as a point person for agencies and programs interested in partnering with the school and help broker new partnerships that are aligned with school goals and needs; Support the research/evaluation of the community school by supervising and coordinating the collection of data, timely submission of reports and responses to other requests for information made by the initiative’s leadership; Effectively and professionally communicate through small and large presentations to groups within the school community and school system’s community; Independently answer routine questions and correspondence from parents, staff, students, and community not requiring the principal or supervisor’s attention; Supervise all program partners providing out-of-school time services at the community school; Establish a family resource center for families that provides information about school and community resources; Organize and oversee a community resource and needs assessment process; Seek input from teachers, school staff, parents, and students on a regular basis to determine ongoing needs of students and families; Coordinate city, school district, and community based organization services at school site; Coordinate the allocation of space in conjunction with school administration for student and family support services, and for special events; Responds to parent concerns as appropriate; and Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Schools.
