We are currently looking for a Community School Coordinator Assistant for our DuPage center on an hours‑to‑be‑reported basis, averaging approximately 15 hours per week.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of total combined (work/volunteer/internship) experience in program development or program management, and working with children in an educational, activity, or social service program required.
  • Experience creating schedules and managing volunteers.
  • Have reliable and consistent access to communication devices during hours (i.e. phone, texting, email).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, valid driver's license and proof of insurance to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel, agency staff, parents, and community partners.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and some weekends.
  • Ability to work in dual accountability milieu-responsible to the agency, but also to school administration.
  • Access to mobility on regular basis required; an automobile with insurance coverage and a valid driver’s license may be required depending on location.
  • Proficiency in required computer programs, Windows, WORD, EXCEL, and Outlook; ability to learn agency and funder computer programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred.
  • Familiar with Participating School.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development and implementation of volunteer training.
  • Works to implement, support, and coordinate programming and activities.
  • Assists in the coordination of operations of the out-of-school-time program.
  • Has shared responsibility for meeting program requirements in partnership with community schools and families, and agency and funder standards for out-of-school-time programs, including record-keeping and monitoring of policies and procedures
  • Seeks input from teachers, school staff, LSC members, parents, and students to determine ongoing needs of students and families.
  • Lead the recruitment of new volunteer patrol members.
  • Create the volunteer schedule to ensure adequate, consistent coverage around the Timberlake premises. Manage daily troubleshooting and communication.
  • Track volunteer check-ins and "working hours" for incentives.
  • Ensure all volunteers receive their gift cards/compensation based on their participation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
