About The Position

The LEADER (Law Enforcement, Active Duty, Emergency Responder) program at McLean Hospital is proud to provide specialized mental health and addiction services, designed specifically for men and women in uniform. This program is housed in the Division of Alcohol, Drugs, and Addiction. This 40-hour position is located in Belmont, MA. Under direction of the Program Director and Nurse Manager, the Community Residence Counselor (CRC) provides direct patient care and participates in therapeutic milieu within the scope of defined practice.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
  • Medication Administration Program Certified [MAP - Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Department of Public Health required
  • One-year patient care or related experience preferred, preferably in a psychiatric setting
  • Time Management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Maintains a commitment to professional growth and competency.
  • All employees must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems (PRISM) for communication, clinical and administrative purposes.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year patient care or related experience preferred, preferably in a psychiatric setting
  • 1-2 years preferred
  • Familiarity with Epic preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care through group and individual counseling in accordance with current treatment plan.
  • Works effectively to manage the therapeutic milieu.
  • Supervises patients in taking medication as prescribed.
  • Assists patients in their activities of daily living.
  • Maintains a commitment to professional growth and competency.
