Community Relations Specialist
About The Position
The Community Relations Specialist is a vital role within Hudbay’s U.S. Business Unit (USBU). The primary purpose is to develop and implement community outreach and engagement activities while maintaining transparent, open relations with stakeholders, neighbors, and the public. The incumbent is a key front-facing representative of the Copper World Project, working to strengthen relationships, reduce social risk, and strengthen our social license founded on integrity and mutual respect. This role will be located at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson near Sahuarita, Arizona.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, a related field or a different degree with related experience.
- Experience: 5–10 years of experience in community relations and outreach, ideally within the mining or industrial sector.
- Expertise: Willingness to develop a strong understanding of Hudbay and the Copper World project.
