About The Position

The Community Relations Coordinator at The Hospitality Hub of Memphis plays a vital role in engaging the community to support the organization's mission. Reporting to the Community Relations Manager, this position focuses on building and maintaining relationships with donors, volunteers, partners, and other stakeholders. The coordinator will respond to inquiries and proactively seek new partnerships while ensuring that all engagements are properly tracked and acknowledged.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of nonprofit experience, with a preference for development and fundraising.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into simple language.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, able to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing circumstances, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong administrative skills, well organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent computer skills, with prior experience in donor management tools, Google Workspace, Slack, and Canva being a plus.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including walking/standing and occasionally lifting heavy loads.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Support the team on fundraising campaigns and events, including year-end campaigns and donor appreciation events.
  • Develop strategies to engage current donors through events, volunteering, and ongoing communication.
  • Solicit, receive, and sort in-kind donations.
  • Log donations and engagements using the Hub's donor management software and create regular reports for leadership.
  • Design meaningful group and individual volunteer opportunities in collaboration with program teams.
  • Recruit and schedule volunteers and partners, ensuring they have the necessary resources to serve effectively.
  • Coordinate the use of the Hub's campus spaces for partner events.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with volunteers to encourage monetary and time donations.
  • Handle general inquiries from the public about ways to get involved with the Hub via phone, email, and social media.
  • Acknowledge donor, volunteer, and partner engagements through notes and communications.
  • Support the Hub's storytelling efforts by collecting photos, videos, and descriptions.
  • Schedule tours, speaking engagements, and other events for Hub leadership.
  • Lead campus tours and represent the Hub at networking events.
