About The Position

Are You Passionate About Advocating and Serving Your Community? We’re seeking a motivated and compassionate Community Programs Advocate to provide vital support and advocacy for youth, adults, and seniors. As a Community Programs Advocate, you'll play a vital role in helping individuals access essential resources, enroll in life-improving services, and achieve their personal goals. This role goes beyond case management—you're a connector, educator, and advocate. Whether leading a class, guiding someone through a benefits application, or supporting a tax prep session, you'll be a trusted support system for those who need it most.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years of experience in social or community services (or equivalent)
  • Proficiency with computers, smart boards, databases, email, and internet use
  • Strong lesson planning, instructional, and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of community resources and the needs of low-income populations
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client outreach, needs assessments, enrollment, and follow-up
  • Deliver direct services including benefit application assistance and referrals
  • Plan and lead classes, workshops, and one-on-one support sessions
  • Monitor participant attendance, progress, and evaluation outcomes
  • Support the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program
  • Track services and maintain accurate digital and physical client records
  • Create and implement lesson plans tailored to client needs
  • Collect feedback and data to improve programs and report on outcomes
  • Represent the agency at community events and collaborate with partners
  • Assist with planning and executing agency-wide initiatives and outreach efforts
