About The Position

Looking for a summer role that’s active, meaningful, and leadership-focused? Working at your local community pool is one of the most rewarding ways to spend the summer. If you enjoy being outdoors, leading a team, creating a safe and welcoming environment, and making a positive impact in your community, this opportunity may be for you. The Summit Area YMCA is hiring three Community Pool Managers to help lead our seasonal outdoor pool operations at the Berkeley Heights Community Pool and the Springfield Community Pool. These roles may be assigned to one location or support both pools, depending on operational needs. Under the direction of the Sr. Program Director, the Pool Manager supports the planning, coordination, and daily operation of high-quality aquatic programs. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe operations, strong staff performance, and a positive experience for members and families, while upholding YMCA policies and safety standards. This is a seasonal, full-time position (40 hours per week), including evenings and weekends. Seasonal employees receive a free YMCA during their active employment. The Summit Area YMCA offers generous employee benefits. Part-time benefits include a free YMCA membership, discounts on Y family membership, and an 12% contribution to the YMCA retirement plan upon eligibility. The outdoor pool season runs from late May through early September, with required pre-season and post-season training and preparation. At the Summit Area YMCA, we are committed to equal opportunity employment regardless of gender, age, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religious affiliation. Our main purpose is to strengthen community. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone can reach their full potential and we strive to live our cause with purpose every day.
