Requirements

  • State licensure/certification as a Community Paramedic is required in the State of WI upon hire OR Two years of Paramedic experience & willing to obtain Community Paramedic licensure within 3 months of hire. ( We will help you obtain this!)
  • CPR Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificate
  • Must meet driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health's insurer (non-patient transport)
  • State background check must provide clearance to work with vulnerable adults
  • Current (valid) US/State driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Caring for vulnerable patients in their home or other community settings to provide health promotion, disease management, care transitions and other services as needed
  • Work alongside emergency medical services, emergency department and primary care physicians in both the clinic and hospital setting to identify patients who could benefits from community paramedic services
  • Work under the license of the medical director utilizing established written protocols in conjunction with the patient's primary care physician and the patients' established care plan
  • Schedule is typically Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm. End time can vary between 4-6p, depending on referrals. FLEX schedule.
